Elise Ames and I escaped to Florida for February and March to train Elise's horse, Wilkinson, with Kathy Connelly at Havensafe Farm in Wellington. It was a fantastic two months of training for us as well as lots of opportunity to watch other top riders school and compete. Thank you Kathy!!
The spring and summer will bring a full schedule of competition and clinics. My working student, PJ Laberge, has been leasing Wixen and she will have the opportunity to get her feet wet at Fourth Level and Prix St George!

All the hard work with Wixen over the past eight years culminated in her first Grand Prix test at the Fall GMHA Show! She rose to the occasion in the pouring rain and put in a really solid first test at this level for a 64.9%, winning the class. Sunday, I wasn't as focused and we had some tension mistakes, but still scored a 61.8%. It was a great show all around!! Thanks to everyone who helped us get there: NEDA for the Professional Training Scholarship, Kathy Connelly for all her help and support, Eliza Rutherford for breeding this great horse, Jaret Pullen for shoeing Wixen beautifully, Liz Austin for such helpful lessons over the last year, Dr.s Lamb and Franz for all Wixen's sports medicine needs, Barbara Thomke for Wixen's hour and a half long massages! It does take a village.
Congratulations to student, Nancy Magnum, for scoring another 60% at Intermediate I at fall GMHA with her wonderful Morgan, Cannequin's Local Hero. Now just a couple of Grand Prix scores for a gold medal!!!!
Student, Meg Handler, had another super show with her horse, Scooter, at GMHA scoring all solid mid 60% in her four First Level tests.
Big Congratulations to Wixen's breeder, Eliza Rutherford of Foxwood Hanoverians (www.foxwoodhanoverians.com) for breeding the top scoring two year old in the Nation, Formula One FH (Fidertanz/EM Dallara), in the USDF Sport Horse Breeding Year End Awards with a 87.5%!!
A good way to end the season for everyone!!!!
